Summary/Warnings:This fic. It is kicking my ass.

And thus begins the quest to put Nicholas back together. He's still got some ways to go, even after all this, but he's... getting there. Kinda. Maybe.

Danny's really beginning to break my heart through all this, and it seems unfortunate that the added tension with Travis is starting to really take its toll at this point. I still really like Travis' character in this, as well as everyone else, and I think they're starting to come round to how we see them in the film, Nicholas especially. As for Janine... I'm starting to not like her, which was not my intent when I set out to do this project. As a character, I did really like Janine, but she's turning into something I can't quite control, and it's getting kind of frightening. And though she may be difficult, it's a necessary evil.

Summary/Warnings:This is done. Finished. No more. I didn't hit my goal, but I don't care. I was happy with where it ended, and didn't want to try to drag it out any longer than needed.

I think Nicholas is about a "put back together" as he's going to get. Hopefully, this fic did what it was supposed to, and tied beginning of film!Nicholas to end of film!Nicholas, and everything in between.

And this is when we start to get an idea of what happened. Danny's a bit wiser, Travis finally fits into the equation completely, and Nicholas is a complete mess. Of course, somebody's got to pick up the pieces. This section really breaks my heart. This definitely marks the point where Nicholas becomes what we saw through the first hour and a half of the film. I knew that when I got to this section, it was going to kick me into the ground, and it really did. But the hardest part is over. Now I just have to put everything back together.

Summary/Warnings: Danny's still feeling a lot neglected, and probably has good reason.

According to the dot points I have set up, about half of this chapter was not supposed to happen, but it feels like something that should have been included in the initial outline. For a character that wasn't even supposed to be in this story, Travis has developed beyond the point of just "supporting male" and has apparently become not only an integral part of Nicholas' relationship (or lack thereof) with Janine, but is also becoming a sticking point with his relationship with Danny. I've got Nicholas' entire relationship with Travis for this story mapped out in my head, and I'm not sure how much of that I'm able to be getting across.

A lot of Janine comes out in this chapter, too, and in that reveal, it also shows how much Angel has changed over the last year. A lot has happened to this man in a short period of time, and it's beginning to take its toll on him. Danny realizes there's more to the story than he's being told, but he's not quite ready to know the whole thing, yet.

Summary/Warnings: With all that's going on in Nicholas' life, Danny's starting to feel a bit neglected.

Some things happened in this chapter that were completely unplanned, but I think they've added a bit of depth and insight into the characters; particularly Nicholas' relationships with Janine and Travis. I'm not necessarily sure how to categorize Nicholas and Travis, in respect of where they were when Nicholas was still in London, and where they are now, especially with Danny in the picture, but I have a very clear idea of how they are with one another, and why, despite Travis being the one to ship Nicholas off to fuck-all nowhere, they're still close. Truth be told, he wasn't even supposed to be a character in this, but I think he's become a major role in the overall plot, and has caused me to re-work my outline more than once.
